Common Misconceptions About Gambling
Understand the reality behind widely held beliefs so you can play more wisely.
A slot that hasn't paid out for a long time is bound to hit soon
Every slot spin is controlled by a Random Number Generator (RNG) that is fully independent. The result of previous spins has no effect on the next spin.
Losing several times in a row means a big win is just around the corner
Consecutive losses do not increase your chances of winning on the next bet. Each bet is an independent event — the game owes the player nothing.
There is a "guaranteed win" system for baccarat
No strategy can eliminate the house edge in baccarat. Systems like Martingale can increase the risk of large losses due to table limits and bankroll limits.
Depositing more money increases your win rate
The deposit amount does not change a game's return-to-player percentage (RTP) or the house edge. The odds of each bet remain the same regardless of your account balance.
Playing at certain times gives a higher chance of winning
Licensed games use RNG that is independently certified by third-party testing bodies. The time of day, day of the week, or number of active players has no effect on outcomes.
Switching tables or games after a loss will "restore" your luck
Every game and table operates independently. Switching does not change the statistical edge of any game. Betting should be seen as entertainment, not a steady source of income.
KYC Guide — How to Verify Your alibet99 Account
Identity verification (KYC — Know Your Customer) is a standard procedure required by all licensed gambling platforms internationally. This process protects you from fraud, money laundering, and unauthorised use of your account.
Documents Typically Required
- A valid Malaysian identity card (MyKad) or passport
- Malaysian driving licence (as a supporting document)
- Proof of address — a recent utility bill (water, electricity, internet)
- A selfie while holding your identity card
Submission Steps
Log in and open the Verification section
After logging in to your alibet99 account, go to account settings and find the Identity Verification or KYC section.
Upload your identity document
Upload a photo or scan of your MyKad (front and back) or passport. Make sure the image is clear, not blurry, and all information is readable.
Submit proof of address and your selfie
Upload a recent utility bill along with your selfie holding your MyKad. The selfie helps confirm that you are the legitimate owner of the account.
Wait for the alibet99 team to review
The verification team will review your documents. This process is usually completed within a short time. You will be notified by email once your account has been verified.
Document Security Note
- Only upload documents to websites using a valid HTTPS protocol. Check for the padlock icon in your browser's address bar.
- Cover or mask sensitive digits of your identity card number when uploading supporting copies, if the platform allows it.
- Do not send images of identity documents through unsecured chat applications or unencrypted email.
Basic Betting and Casino Terms
Understand these key terms before you start playing — good knowledge is a player's greatest advantage.
Asian Handicap
A special handicap system that reduces match outcomes to just two possibilities. The strength gap between two teams is balanced by adding or subtracting goals from the weaker team.
Over-Under (Totals)
A bet on whether the total points or goals in a match will be more than (Over) or less than (Under) a value set by the odds provider.
Odds Formats
Odds can be displayed in three main formats: Decimal (e.g. 2.50), Fractional (e.g. 3/2), and American (e.g. +150 or -200). All three express the same probability in different ways.
RTP (Return to Player)
The theoretical percentage of wagered money returned to players over the long term, based on millions of rounds. RTP is a statistical estimate, not a guaranteed return within a single session.
House Edge
The mathematical advantage that a casino holds in every game. This advantage ensures the casino remains profitable over the long term without affecting the outcome of any individual bet.
Wagering Requirement
The total amount that must be wagered before winnings from a bonus can be withdrawn. Example: a RM100 bonus with a 25x wagering requirement means you need to place bets totalling RM2,500.
Live Dealer Casino
A casino format where games are broadcast live from a professional studio with real dealers. Players can watch the action in real time and interact through the game interface.
Slot Volatility
A measure of how often and how much a slot pays out. Low Volatility — smaller wins more frequently. High Volatility — larger wins but less often. Medium Volatility falls in between.
Progressive Jackpot
A jackpot that grows continuously as players across a network place bets. A small portion of each bet is added to the prize pool until one player wins it.
Cashback
A rebate given based on a player's net losses over a set period. At alibet99, weekly cashback is calculated according to your VIP level and credited automatically to your account.
Mix Parlay
A bet type where a player combines two or more match selections on a single ticket. All selections must win for the bet to succeed, but the payout multiplier is significantly higher.
Random Number Generator (RNG)
An algorithm used by all licensed casino games to ensure every outcome is fully random and independent. RNG is certified by independent third-party testing bodies.
